Los Campesinos!

If renaming the members of your band so that they share last names and random punctuation means you'll end up as talented as Los Campesinos!, there's going to be a lot of confusion about familial relationships in the coming years. Okay, so they're indie-pop and into being ironic. But whatever "indie" actually means these days, this band has the independence to keep things polished, the courage to be humorously self-deprecating, and, of course, sincere, incredible music to back it up.
Time Machine

Time Machine's music is a little like a time machine back to the golden era of hip hop, but don't be fooled. MCs Biscuit, Jet Set Jay and DJ Mekalek aren't riding anyone's coattails. The LA based group has managed to stay true to the beats and rhymes that got them going, but their songs are always forward-moving. That progressiveness has expanded their audience to contain even some of the snootiest hipsters around. Who said rap wasn't cool anymore?

Anyone who can claw their way through New York's east village music scene knows a little something about competition. Langhorne Slim, coming up from Philly, managed to do just that. Don't let his overalls fool you. His self-titled debut album with The War Eagles, made up of musicians Malachi DeLorenzo and Paul Difiglia, has the raw intensity to pull off blues, love songs, and country emotions -- mix 'em all up -- and keep you coming back anytime you want to really feel something.

Crystal Castles got their name from the fictional home of She-Ra in the He-Man comic series, but there is nothing fictional about how success has hit this duo with superhuman power. The two have somehow managed to take power-pumping noise, synth sounds from a 70's keyboard with an Atari videogame sound chip, other random bits and bytes, and turn what was intended to be something original into music that thrill seekers everywhere can embrace. Anyone who can't stand to be pigeonholed will certainly find a friend and musical muse in Crystal Castles.

When you're from Orlando, you have a lot to live up to when it comes to creating something sunny and fun. But the Florida band There For Tomorrow doesn't have a problem with that - their music is alternative rock that keeps your windows down and your emotions running wild. With famed Gold record producer James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional) on their recording team, these talented musicians are pleasing more and more crowds with their personal, powerhouse music.
