Students at the University of Miami get a History Lesson in the Flesh

Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Prize winner, human-rights activst, and author, Elie Wiesel surprises a class at the University of Miami who also happen to be reading his autobiographical novel, Night.

In this piece, Wiesel engages the students by speaking about the atrocities of his experience and the similar crisis that is happening in Darfur today. He talks about indifference, it's true meaning and the consequences of it--providing an inspiring talk to encourage students to speak out and take action against injustice.

The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest offers students the opportunity to analyze urgent ethical issues in today's world and compete for $10,000 in prizes and the opportunity to meet Elie Wiesel in New York City. For more information, click here.
